The Gambia’s Good Market officially opened on 4 July 2025 at UN75 Kotu Park in Banjul, offering a new platform for local youth and women entrepreneurs in the tourism and creative industries. Launched through a partnership led by the EU Youth Empowerment Project and the International Trade Centre, the initiative aims to promote ‘Made in The Gambia’ products, improve market access for small businesses, and support inclusive, sustainable tourism.
The monthly pop-up event, backed by national ministries and business chambers, showcases around 30 local enterprises and will coincide with cultural festivities such as Koriteh and Christmas. Key stakeholders, including the European Union and ITC, highlighted the market’s role in strengthening MSMEs, generating jobs, and fostering economic growth by linking creativity, trade, and tourism development in The Gambia.
