The Church of Vows in Elden Ring is not only important to the lore of the game, but it is also the only way for you to make amends for the wrongdoing of attacking friendly NPCs.
This church, like the majority of the others strewn about Elden Ring, appears to have seen better days in the past, and this one is not an exception. The Church of Vows is little more than a crumbling ruin, but don't let its dilapidated exterior dissuade you from walking in because there are some pretty interesting things happening inside. Don't let its dilapidated exterior dissuade you from walking in.
In addition to other things, the Church of Vows is the location of Miriel, a lovable tortoise who serves as the Pope and is widely considered to be one of the most memorable characters in Elden Ring. In addition, the church is home to a statue of Lady Rennala, which offers the opportunity for players to make amends for any wrongdoings they may have committed in the past.
Find Your Way To The Church Of Vows Here!
A short distance to the north-northeast of the Raya Lucaria Academy can be found the Church of Vows, which can be found in the eastern part of the Liurnia of the Lakes region
After defeating Godrick the Grafted in Stormveil Castle, you will normally want to make your way to Liurnia of the Lakes
However, there is a shortcut that you can take that will allow you to get there more quickly
Once you have reached the end of the collapsed bridge to the east of the castle (the one with the Finger Reader), you will need to jump onto the small plateau to the left of the end of the bridge
You need only stick to the path that goes through the mountains to get around Stormveil Castle and arrive in Liurnia of the Lakes without any detours
After exiting the castle through the rear gate, take the first right and continue along the road until you reach the Site of Grace. If you want to begin Thops's questline, you should probably make a brief detour along the way to the Church of Irith, which is located nearby, and speak with Thops. Your perseverance in completing the quest will eventually be rewarded with Thops's Barrier and the Erudition gesture. These are the two items you require in order to access the Converted Fringe Tower and acquire the Cannon of Haima sorcery. If you already possess those items, continue past the church and continue to follow the road as it winds down the hill until you reach a bandit camp.
After you have passed the camp, you will want to make a right turn and begin descending toward the lake. You can find a Spirit Spring on the opposite side of the lake, next to the cliff, if you cross the lake. You can reach the Liurnia Highway South by jumping on the spring. It is possible to get to the eastern part of Liurnia more quickly by using a series of platforms that have been embedded in the cliff below Stormveil Castle. However, if you make a mistake while using this route, it is very likely that you will perish. It is recommended that you take the longer route around because it is the safer option, and you will most likely want to visit the Church of Irith anyway.
Starting from the Site of Grace on the Liurnia Highway South, head north along the road until you reach the checkpoint on the Liurnia Highway North. Be sure to navigate around any ruins you come across along the way. To get back on the dirt road heading north from here, turn right at this intersection. If you keep moving forward along the road, despite the fact that there are a number of hazards and foes in your path, you will eventually arrive at the Carian Study Hall and, after that, the Artist's Shack. After crossing the stone bridge that can be found behind the shack, you should be able to see the Church of Vows, which is located to the northwest and is perched on top of a hill. You just need to navigate your way across the field and up the hill, and you'll soon be able to have a conversation with the tortoise pope.
