Air Mauritius has announced the return of Andre Viljoen as Chief Executive Officer, effective 15 October 2025, following a global recruitment process. The move marks a pivotal moment for the national carrier, which is currently navigating financial pressures and aims to re-establish its regional influence.
Viljoen previously led Air Mauritius from 2009 to 2015 after departing South African Airways, overseeing a period of recovery and operational reform. His reappointment signals a renewed strategic direction as the airline works to stabilise operations and reinforce its position as a key air access hub between Africa and Asia.
