Air India and Air Mauritius have announced the expansion of their codeshare partnership, adding 17 new routes across India, Mauritius, Réunion, South Africa, and Madagascar. The agreement, signed during the 81st IATA AGM in New Delhi, enables seamless travel between India and key destinations in Southern Africa, with coordinated services and single-ticket itineraries via Mauritius.
Under the updated agreement, Air India will add its ‘AI’ code to Air Mauritius flights connecting Mauritius with Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Antananarivo. Air Mauritius will place its ‘MK’ code on Air India’s domestic Indian routes and now also on services between Mauritius and Mumbai. The enhanced partnership strengthens air access for travellers between the Indian subcontinent and Africa, with tickets available from 1 July 2025 across both airlines’ channels and travel agents.
