At the recently concluded Africa’s Travel Indaba 2025 in Durban, African Adventure Specialists (AAS) affirmed its strategic position as a leading Destination Management Company (DMC) for East Africa, while laying the groundwork for deeper collaboration across the continent’s tourism economies.
Held from 12 to 15 May 2025 at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre, this year’s Indaba brought together over 1,200 exhibitors and 873 vetted buyers from 55 countries, underscoring its role as one of the continent’s most significant tourism trade platforms. AAS, as a committed participant, used this opportunity to engage meaningfully with trade partners from Africa and key international source markets.
During the event, AAS presented its cross-border safari packages covering Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Tanzania. These itineraries, built with an emphasis on flexibility and cultural depth, cater to both group and independent travelers. Their offerings are supported by multilingual staff, private guiding services, and travel programs rooted in sustainable practices.
In alignment with growing demand from Southern Africa’s outbound market, the company is enhancing its inter-regional collaborations. Notably, discussions with SADC-based operators focused on expanding into East African extensions and multi-country circuits, responding to a broader interest in cross-regional travel experiences.
“Our focus is to build integrated itineraries that bridge East and Southern Africa,” Andrew Kitema noted. “We’re also investing in trade tools that streamline agent engagement and strengthen our partner network.”
Among the measures being rolled out is the expansion of AAS’s B2B digital portal, which facilitates faster response times, real-time availability checks, and destination resources for travel planners. The company is also prioritizing agent training to ensure that partners across the SADC region are equipped to sell combined African experiences with accuracy and confidence.
As Africa’s tourism rebounds, aided by improving air access and traveler appetite for meaningful, nature-rich encounters, AAS remains optimistic. With renewed partnerships and enhanced digital infrastructure, the company is positioning itself to meet the expectations of a changing global traveler and contribute to the continent’s long-term tourism growth.
